Electrofusion reducer is a type of pipe fitting used in joining two pipes of different sizes or diameters using electrofusion welding technology. Electrofusion welding is a method of joining plastic pipes by using electrical energy to melt the pipe material and create a fusion bond. An electrofusion reducer typically consists of two ends with different diameters, allowing for the transition from a larger pipe to a smaller pipe or vice versa. One end of the reducer is designed to match the outer diameter of the larger pipe, while the other end matches the outer diameter of the smaller pipe. The reducer is usually made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) or another suitable plastic material that is compatible with the pipes being joined.

To use an electrofusion reducer, the ends of the pipes to be joined are cleaned and inserted into the reducer. Electrofusion couplings, which contain embedded heating coils, are then placed over the joint. An electric current is passed through the heating coils, which heats the pipe material and melts it, creating a fusion bond between the pipes and the reducer. As the joint cools, the melted plastic solidifies, resulting in a strong and durable joint.
